Woodson County suspends new private entryway applications while Road & Bridge drafts revised policy

The Woodson County Commission voted May 26 to temporarily halt all new applications for private driveway or entryway installations while staff draft a revised county entrance policy.
Road & Bridge supervisor Gary Ward described the county—s existing entrance policy and told commissioners staff would prepare a resolution to update the rules for private property access. Commissioners moved to suspend accepting new entryway applications until that revised policy is adopted and asked Road & Bridge to return with proposed language.
Ward also reported plans to begin a commercial driver—s license training class in the second week of June for county and interested city employees and mentioned finding portable diesel generators offered through Federal Surplus at roughly $500 each; commissioners requested additional information before authorizing any purchase.
The suspension is effective immediately and will remain in place until the commission considers and adopts the drafted policy. Road & Bridge was assigned to draft the resolution and report back to the commission.
