Township awards $212,418 in road contracts, approves Cold Springs Road easements

Public Works Director Glenn Kelso told the board Russell Standard Corp. was the low bidder for Contract 1 (FB Modified Paving for Fanus Road and Clearview Place) at $148,174.25 and for Contract 2 (chip seal for Morgan Drive, Chelsea Lane and Green Mountain Road) at $64,244.70. Vice Chairperson Jennifer DeGaetano moved to award both contracts to Russell Standard; Supervisor Robert Line seconded and the votes were unanimous. The combined contract amounts total $212,418.95.
Manager Jill Lovett reported that the Cold Springs Road bridge replacement requires six easements across three properties. The board unanimously approved permanent and temporary construction easements for Tyler Shopp (139 Cold Springs Road) and Barry L. Myers & Courtney L. Myers (121 Cold Springs Road). The board also approved a permanent and temporary easement for Eric L. Steinour & Tatum A. Talley (124 Cold Springs Road) with $2,000 compensation for removal of five trees.
All motions carried by unanimous vote of the three supervisors present (Chairman Rob Kole, Vice Chair Jennifer DeGaetano and Supervisor Robert Line). Work awarded and easements approved are contingent on the usual engineering and right‑of‑way finalizations before construction begins.
Next steps identified at the meeting include final contract execution with Russell Standard Corp., scheduling of work with the township’s public works department, and completion of easement paperwork before right‑of‑way work begins.
