Council approves temporary peddler’s permit for visiting college student

The Jackson City Council approved a temporary peddler’s permit June 16 for college student Marleen Must, who said she is in Jackson this summer as part of an exchange program and will sell educational books door-to-door for Southwestern Advantage.
Must told the Council the materials range from early‑childhood to high‑school resources and include a family Bible library. City Clerk Dave Maschoff noted the city previously waived the peddler’s permit fee for a similar student vendor from the same company and that Must submitted the required application. On motion by Alderman Nathan Peterson with John Weland seconding, the Council unanimously approved the permit.
Must thanked the Mayor Pro Tem and Council members for approval.
