At the Jan. 6 meeting council approved several community and recreation items.
The council authorized Bask Pools to plaster the middle section of the municipal pool for $44,000 and directed staff to advertise for summer pool staff. Council also approved advertising for bids for a new pavilion in Adam Carlson Park with a proposed budget of $150,000 to be funded from Recreation Bond Funds and asked staff to solicit bids for a new basketball court. The council further authorized obtaining bids for installation of large fans under the park pavilion. Separately, the council approved allowing renters of city buildings to use Merchant Services Security Company for event security.
The council agreed to co-sponsor the Annual Health Community Fair on March 22 at the old Fred’s Building and grounds, and the city logo will appear on event flyers. Minutes do not include detailed designs, procurement schedules, or the pool project timeline; staff follow-up and bid documents will supply those details.
