At the Nov. 4 meeting, the St. Martinville Mayor and City Council unanimously rehired Quincy Castille as a police officer at $18.22 per hour, effective Nov. 4, 2024, on Chief Martin’s recommendation. Flo Chatman moved the rehiring, Janise Anthony seconded, and the motion carried.
Also on the Mayor’s recommendation, the council approved a personnel promotion and a new hire. The council unanimously changed Pamela Savoy’s employment status from Cashier (paygrade 110+2%/$12.00/hr) to Assistant Billing Supervisor (paygrade 109+8%/$16.00/hr), effective Nov. 6, 2024. The council also unanimously hired Christina Labbe as a Cashier at paygrade 110+2% ($12.00/hr), effective Nov. 8, 2024.
Separately, the council unanimously voted to table consideration of implementing a three-year employment contract for non–POST-certified officers until the next meeting. The agenda item to change the status of the Mayor’s Court Clerk was also tabled; no action was recorded on that item.
The minutes record the hires, promotion, and tabled items but do not include additional documentation in the public record about background checks, contract text, or implementation steps beyond effective dates and paygrades noted.
