The Town of East Hampton Commission on Aging voted unanimously on May 14 to use remaining fiscal-year funds to purchase a treadmill for the Senior Center.
Dr. Mariann Mankowski moved that the commission “Purchase a treadmill for the Senior Center with our remaining funds, not to exceed $1,750.” Dave McGovern seconded the motion; the motion passed 7-0.
The COA reviewed its remaining expendable funds and reported $1,916 could be spent before the end of the fiscal year. Members said a gym-quality treadmill would be useful and well utilized by center patrons.
The motion authorizes staff to proceed with the purchase within the cap set by the commission. No additional budget appropriation was made; the purchase will be charged to the COA's remaining FY funds.
