Board members reviewed enrollment and program updates for Right Tech/Right Academy and reported modest enrollment gains and staff hires.
A presenter said Right Tech/Right Academy had 88 students in the day program (84 high school and 4 mid-level) and Right Tech registrations stood at 517, an increase of about 12 students from recent totals. Preschool registration was reported at 132 for next year (138 last year). The co-op hired a health science instructor and offered a candidate for a construction opening; further hiring updates will be provided at the next meeting.
The board also ratified a teachers contract for Right Tech in a special meeting on June 18. The presenter described the ratification as respectful and noted that several member districts must finalize their contracts before the co-op can finalize its financial planning.
Why it matters: staffing and enrollment levels affect service capacity and the co-op's budget projections; the contract ratification resolves a key labor issue ahead of the school year.
What's next: The co-op will continue recruiting where needed and provide updates at the next board meeting.
