Staff update: Bolton tests new web GIS; zoning enforcement follows up on Tolland Rd complaint

Town staff reported they are testing a new web-based GIS with digitized parcels and imported tax maps, and that zoning enforcement issued a letter in response to a complaint about a property at Tolland Road and Route 44.
Michael D'Amato, Zoning Enforcement Officer, told the commission staff have been reviewing the beta version of the town's new web-based GIS. Parcels have been digitized and older tax maps imported; D'Amato said the site still needs the zoning map layer and some additional work but will allow more frequent updates than the regional GIS. The system is web-based and does not require user signup.
D'Amato also reported that a zoning complaint was received for a property at Tolland Road and Route 44; he said staff sent a letter outlining requirements and permit conditions and that he will follow up on compliance.
Patrice Carson additionally reported staff had received a draft zone change amendment for the Cider Mill project and that a group had expressed interest in reusing the Dean Cabinetry property; no decisions were made on either item at the Feb. 11 meeting.
