Tega Cay awards street-patching and sidewalk repairs contract to Ram Pavement

The Tega Cay City Council voted unanimous approval April 20 to award the street-patching and sidewalk-panel repairs contract to Ram Pavement and to authorize the city manager to issue a notice to proceed.
Staff said the project (procured under the city’s code) received four bids; Ram Pavement was the low bidder. Work will include street patching on Chelsea Day, Stone Crest Boulevard, Beachwood Cove and Delaney Drive and sidewalk panel repairs on Crestfield Lane, Beachwood Cove and Andover. Staff emphasized that the work will use a higher-spec concrete than previous repairs; in the presentation staff stated "we specified 3,000 PSI on the concrete. Their bid was for 36," a phrase that appears in the transcript and may refer to a higher psi value in the vendor’s proposal.
City Manager Charlie said the FY25/26 street maintenance line was budgeted at $100,000 and that, after accounting for this award and prior expenditures, the line remains about $78,000 positive for the remainder of the fiscal year. Council members noted resident complaints about Chelsea Day and welcomed the planning to use more durable pavement.
The motion passed unanimously; staff will finalize licensing and issue the notice to proceed.
