At its April 9 meeting the Dennis Beach Committee noted several operational updates: a warrant article seeking reimbursement from the Beach Improvement Fund for recent nourishment at Corporation Beach, plans for a beach season education video and an event request for the Blessing of the Bikes.
The committee reported that a warrant article for reimbursement of Corporation Beach nourishment is on the town meeting warrant and said the nourishment was expected to be completed by mid-April. No dollar amounts were provided during the update.
Committee members also heard that the beach season education video production was orderly and that Dustin, a staff member involved in the project, will send the completed video to Liz Sullivan, town administrator, and other stakeholders for posting to the town website and social media; the committee will receive a viewing copy.
Separately, Doug Bohannon of the Blue Knights met with staff to request the organization’s usual Blessing of the Bikes event for the first Sunday in May at West Dennis Beach (May 3, 9 a.m.–noon). Dustin referred the request to the Select Board to meet scheduling and procedural timelines.
The committee postponed an Adopt-a-Beach letter review until member Helene returns from Florida. The meeting adjourned at 5:55 PM; the next meeting is May 14 at 5:00 PM.
