The Dennis Beach Committee on April 9 confirmed that a warrant article to renovate the West Dennis Beach snack bar will appear on the May 5 town meeting agenda after recommendations from the Select Board and Finance Committee.
The committee said funding for the project will come from the Beach Improvement Fund, which the committee described as primarily supported by day-pass sales at town beaches. Committee members noted the snack bar represents the last remaining town bathhouse in need of an update and that the structure will most likely connect to the new wastewater system, which should mean it will not require a special septic installation.
Committee members did not take a formal vote on the project at this meeting; they received the update as part of routine agenda items and the project is proceeding through the town’s warrant and permitting process. The committee will continue to monitor the project’s progress and any implications for beach operations or seasonal services.
The Beach Committee meets next on Thursday, May 14 at 5:00 PM at Dennis Town Hall.
