Bolton PZC accepts FY 2026/27 budget, approves $1,100 transfer for clerk payments

The Bolton Planning & Zoning Commission voted Dec. 10 to accept its proposed FY 2026/27 budget with a specific administrative change to funding for board clerk payments.
Consulting Director Patrice Carson explained that clerk payments historically were paid from Payroll but that a recent administrative change requires those payments to be made from the Official Administrative Services account. She proposed transferring the full balance of $1,100 from Payroll to Official Administrative Services to align with that change.
Commissioner Kawan Gordon moved to accept the budget with the $1,100 transfer; Vice-Chair James Cropley seconded. The motion carried, 7:0:0.
Commissioners also discussed potential costs associated with amending the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), including legal advertising costs, and noted that the Connecticut Chapter of the American Planning Association is advocating to remove legal publication requirements in newspapers. Commissioner Ellen King thanked staff for providing clear background information on the budget that aided transparency.
With the vote passed, the budget change will be implemented administratively and recorded in town accounts; no further board action on this item was taken at the meeting.
