Lumberton High students honored; staff reports positive bond outreach and extracurricular wins

Patrick Bray, assistant superintendent for secondary programs, opened a recognition segment at the Lamar County School District board meeting on Nov. 4, naming Lumberton High students who earned perfect scores on state tests and presenting certificates.

Bray also asked Beta sponsors forward to recognize Crystal Baker’s second-place finish in creative writing at the National Beta Convention.
A district staff member reported conducting several interviews about the district bond issue and described the outreach as going "very well," with positive feedback recorded. The staff speaker also highlighted extracurricular achievements: the girls' volleyball team came back from two sets down to win the state championship; band programs earned competitive placements including a fourth-place state finish; and football participation and improvements were also noted.
