Tri-Center Board approves PowerSchool support, device purchases and accepts $10,000 Hudl grant

The Tri-Center Board of Education on June 29 approved several technology contracts and equipment purchases and accepted a $10,000 athletic grant during a special conference-call meeting.
Board member Katie Ausdemore moved to approve an agreement with Grant Wood Area Education Agency for PowerSchool software and support for fiscal year 2027 in the amount of $16,270.23; Stephanie Witt seconded and the motion carried, 5-0. Ausdemore then moved to approve bids for elementary iPads totaling $59,360.00 and MacBook Neos for teachers totaling $48,580.00; Sara Arnold seconded and the board approved both purchases, 5-0.
Ausdemore moved and Arnold seconded approval of a three-year Internet filter contract with CDW-G for $10,260.00; the motion carried, 5-0. Later, Jeremy VanArsdol moved to accept a $10,000 grant from Hudl for the district athletic program; Ausdemore seconded and the board voted 5-0 in favor. The board also approved fiscal year-end bills later in the meeting.
School officials said the contracts and purchases are intended to support student data systems, classroom hardware and teacher devices, and to provide filtered Internet access consistent with district policy. The Hudl grant will supplement athletic program resources. There was no public comment recorded for the meeting.
The motions were routine approvals on the special-meeting consent agenda and carried unanimously. The board adjourned at 8:37 a.m.
