Board discusses food‑distribution reimbursement and clarifies a Fairview cooler inspection

The Crestwood School District board reviewed a proposed agreement to reimburse CEO distribution expenses tied to a long‑running community food program conducted in partnership with Carolyn Boone. Board members described the program as an important community service and supported documenting the arrangement in writing.
According to Carolyn Boone, the food distribution program is entering its 10th year and currently serves about 400 families twice a month; the program purchases bags and supplies the CEO does not provide. "It has been going on...we're starting our 10th year. We peaked at about 550 families twice a month...right now we're serving about 400 from our community twice a month," Boone said during committee discussion.
Separately, the board heard from Katie Golinsky, regional manager with the Nutrition Group, who clarified a newspaper item about a Fairview cooler. Golinsky said a milk/stand‑up cooler at Fairview was temporarily out of service but staff were not storing food at unsafe temperatures, all measured temperatures remained within acceptable ranges, and the cooler has been repaired. She said the inspection report language led to confusion in the press and that staff had followed ServSafe procedures while repairs were made.
Both items were referred to the voting agenda. The board asked administration to include the CEO reimbursement agreement language in board materials and to provide any warranty or inspection paperwork related to the cooler repair.
