The Cedar Springs Downtown Development Authority voted to approve a façade grant not to exceed $5,000 for RNK Land Holding LLC to renovate the storefront at 34 North Main Street, home to Cookies Collectible.
RNK representatives Kelly and Bab Rice described plans to replace and standardize the front windows to match the adjacent facade and said the contractor would build the windows offsite and install them in one day. Staff recommended approval despite the façade line item being roughly $1,900 short of covering the full request; Rebecca said the board could use fund balance to cover the overage.
The board made a motion to approve the RNK Land Holding façade grant and conducted a roll-call vote. The motion passed; the transcript includes yes votes and an explicit recorded yes from board member Mr. Crawford and from David Ringler.
Next steps: staff will coordinate the grant paperwork and payment process with RNK Land Holding and confirm the renovation timeline with the business owner.
