The Denison City Council adopted Resolution #2025-50 on Sept. 23, 2025, formally adopting an updated Public Works handbook while removing a provision that would have divided unused funds at fiscal year‑end (50% to the Public Works Capital Improvement Account and 50% paid as a bonus).
Council members said the disputed clause should be removed. Zupp-Smith introduced the resolution and Curnyn seconded; the motion to adopt Resolution #2025-50 with the proposed change passed unanimously.
Separately, the council voted to table a separate resolution adopting an updated employee handbook for other departments (motion by Logan, seconded by Granzen; carried unanimously). The minutes do not record additional changes to the employee handbook item other than the tabling motion.
The Public Works handbook adoption confirms policy changes for that department; the minutes indicate staff and council will handle implementation and follow local administrative procedures.
