The Denison City Council unanimously approved a management agreement with the YMCA on Sept. 23, 2025, after briefly tabling the item earlier in the meeting.
Council Member Zupp-Smith moved to reinstate the YMCA item and Council Member Granzen seconded; the motion to reinstate passed unanimously. Following discussion, Zupp-Smith moved to approve the presented document as a management agreement; Curnyn seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council had earlier included the YMCA item among agenda adjustments when it approved the agenda; that procedural motion (to approve the agenda and table item #12) was made by Zupp-Smith and seconded by Logan and carried without opposition. The reinstatement and final approval concluded the topic without recorded dissent.
The council handled the YMCA vote as part of a short meeting that also included an oath of office for new Police Officer James Krajicek and routine administrative updates from City staff. The council did not record additional conditions attached to the management agreement in the meeting minutes; council members indicated they would place other related items on future agendas as needed.
The next procedural step is the implementation of the management agreement as presented; council members did not record a further vote or timeline for operational changes during the meeting.
