The Fremont Business Improvement District board voted March 17 to authorize up to $5,000 for installation of trash cans, picnic tables and remaining benches, a motion put forward by Howard Krasne and seconded by J.J. Bixby that carried 9–0. The funding covers installation of items already purchased and stored pending placement.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the minutes from its Feb. 17 meeting after a motion by J.J. Bixby, seconded by Daniel Cech; that motion was recorded as carried 7–0. The board also approved a slate of event sponsorships — $500 for the Spring Gallery, $500 for the Fall Gallery, $1,500 for Concert in the Park, $1,500 for the Fremont Hispanic Festival, $1,500 for Halloween Hysteria, $4,500 for Christmas Walk and $1,500 for the FAAA Pathfinder Hotel — on a motion by Brenden Murray seconded by Howard Krasne that carried 8–0; applications for Color the Core and 505 Brewery were tabled for later consideration.
A motion to adjourn was made by Kevin Main, seconded by J.J. Bixby, and recorded as carried 8–0; the meeting ended at 1:13 p.m.
