Ringgold County supervisors designate courthouse west entrance for meeting postings, unanimously approve auditor report

On June 22, 2026, the Ringgold County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to designate the exterior door at the courthouse’s west entrance, 109 West Madison Street in Mount Ayr, as the county’s official physical location for posting public meeting notices to comply with House File 2490, which takes effect July 1, 2026. The resolution also requires meeting notices and tentative agendas to be posted on the county website when applicable and directs that amended agendas be clearly marked as "AMENDED."
Auditor Amanda Waske presented the posting-location resolution and explained the legal requirement under Iowa Code Chapter 21 and the newly effective House File 2490. Supervisor Randy Taytor moved the resolution (RC26-101); Supervisor Steve Knapp seconded. The board’s vote was unanimous.
Earlier in the meeting Waske presented the May month-end financial report for the auditor’s office. The board adopted Resolution RC26.100 to approve the report. Supervisor Steve Knapp moved the resolution; Supervisor Randy Taytor seconded. The vote was unanimous.
The board also approved the meeting minutes by motion later in the session. No dissenting votes were recorded. The auditor’s attestation appears in the minutes.
