Denison council approves consent agenda, several resolutions and sets two Dec. 2 public hearings

Denison — The City of Denison City Council on Nov. 18 approved a series of routine agenda items and adopted multiple resolutions, including setting two public hearings for Dec. 2, 2025.
At the start of the meeting the council approved the agenda and a consent agenda that included the Nov. 4 minutes, payment of bills, financial reports for October 2025, bank reconciliation, and the hiring of Ana Zarazua as an Administrative Assistant at $20.00 per hour effective Nov. 25, 2025. The consent vote also included adoption of Resolution #2025-56 (Transfer of Funds).
Council adopted Resolution #2025-57 approving the FY 2024/2025 Annual Urban Renewal Report and Resolution #2025-58 naming the city's official newspaper for legal notices. The council adopted Resolution #2025-59 approving an amendment to the lease for Majestic Hills Golf Course. Council set two public hearings for Dec. 2, 2025: one at 5:00 p.m. on a proposal to dispose of city property (Resolution #2025-60) and another at 5:05 p.m. to consider amendments to Chapter 167, Table 167.4 (Resolution #2025-61); the council directed staff to update the chart to match the public hearing notice language.
The council also approved an agreement with WIN to provide internet services to the Boulders Event Center and accepted an estimate for repairs to a 2023 Ford F‑150 police responder. City Manager Garcia reported the city will 'go live' on new software the first week in December. Mayor Soseman noted a school visit to city departments on Nov. 24 and mentioned AARP contacted her about a grant for replacing handprints in uptown planters, with funds available in the Uptown Improvement Committee account.
All items recorded in the minutes passed by unanimous vote; absent councilmembers were Curnyn and Miller.
