Summary

Mendota CCSD 289’s board of education authorized the district office to pay year-end invoices and approved an amended fiscal year 2026 budget at its meeting Tuesday evening.
Board members voted to allow the district to pay invoices that arrive in the coming weeks so charges post to the intended fiscal year and to permit payment of July bills as part of the same authorization. A separate motion to adopt the amended FY2026 budget also passed on roll call.
Staff told the board that some expenditures were higher than previously projected because of how construction invoices fell across fiscal years; despite that, officials said next fiscal year is expected to be in surplus and that the amended budget’s projected deficit remained close to prior estimates. A staff member noted the amended budget reflects those timing and expenditure adjustments.
The meeting record shows both motions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call. The board did not record any opposing votes during the actions on bills and the amended budget.
The board packet also included an updated personnel report noting the planned 2028 retirement of Amy Lindenmeyer and several summer hires, which the board approved as part of the consent agenda. Staff said fuller financial documents remain available on request rather than being included in every board packet.
The board adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
