Coconino County Accommodation School District (103) board approves FY27 budget, hires, contracts and stipend

The Governing Board of the Coconino County Accommodation School District (103) approved the FY27 proposed budget and a slate of personnel and contract actions at its June 3, 2026 regular meeting.
Board President Cheryl Mango-Paget moved through a series of action items that were presented by staff. The board approved the FY27 proposed budget; district staff reported the Maintenance and Operations Fund 001 proposed expenditures at $2,220,446, a budget carryforward of $2,494,767 and a total budget limit of $4,715,213. The district reported approximately $2 million in combined federal and state grant funds and an unrestricted capital fund balance of $199,936.66. Estimated average daily membership (ADM) for FY27 was presented as 129.6341.
Also approved were personnel and contract items: a one-year $25,616 stipend for Erin Tutay to perform Executive Assistant responsibilities from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027; a one-year lease allowing Glen Canyon Outdoor Academy to use classroom 137 and an adjacent hallway at Tse' Yaato' High School (effective July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027); the FY27 out-of-state field trips for Tse' Yaato' High School to destinations in Utah; the Tse' Yaato' FY27 student handbook; and a food services contract continuing meal delivery from Page Unified School District at no cost to students or families.
The board approved hiring Jaden DeStefano Alai as the district's secure care education teacher at the Coconino County Juvenile Detention Center, effective July 6, 2026, and separately approved hiring the same person as a district substitute effective June 3, 2026 to allow compensation for onboarding and required training. The FY27 warrant resolution was approved in accordance with Arizona Statute 15-321. The board also approved distribution of a final one-time Proposition 123 state aid payment of $12,672 to nine non-certified administrative staff, split evenly, and approved listed payroll and accounts payable vouchers as presented.
