City staff presented the Northern Force Main Phase I project on Nov. 17, describing it as part of a larger effort to re‑route force mains and relieve flow on the Regional Master Lift Station ahead of new development.
Staff said the Phase I alignment runs along Old Berkley Road between C. Fred Jones Boulevard and Berkley Knights Drive. Ten bids were received following public advertisement; Tri‑Sure Corporation was the low bidder and has completed previous utility projects for the city.
The project had been budgeted in FY2024/25 for $2,800,000; staff recommended awarding the Phase I construction contract to Tri‑Sure Corporation in the amount of $977,600. A motion to award the bid carried unanimously.
City staff noted Phase II will connect the Phase I work to the Pace Road master lift station at a later date.
