Chief Voter Services Director Casandra Oneal explained the manual‑count procedures required under Florida Statute 101.591 and reviewed ballot security and public notice steps before staff conducted separate counts of vote‑by‑mail and precinct ballots. After a staff count and tabulation, Oneal reported that the vote‑by‑mail and precinct manual counts matched the tabulations provided to the board.
City Clerk Brandon Henry presented updated totals after the board accepted two provisional ballots and one vote‑by‑mail cure. The certified post‑audit totals for Seat 3 were Maulissa Braverman with 593 votes and Sean Levy with 777 votes. Henry reported 1,371 total votes cast in the municipal election — 678 vote‑by‑mail and 693 in person — representing a 10.52% turnout of registered city voters.
The board took a series of recorded motions to accept or reject individual provisional and vote‑by‑mail cure ballots based on signature review and cure documentation; Supervisor of Elections staff recommended acceptance where signatures matched or cures were submitted. Each contested ballot was considered separately and decided by roll call. The Canvassing Board then signed and certified the Voting System Post‑Election Audit Report and the precinct summary for the manual audit.
The board also designated the Auburndale Civic Center precinct and Seat Three as the audited race and precinct for the post‑election voting system audit required under state administrative rules. The canvassing sessions occurred Nov. 4, 7 and 12 at the Supervisor of Elections' Elections Operations Center in Winter Haven and followed the acceptance/rejection procedures outlined by staff.
