Drainage trustees tentatively receive engineer amendment for JDD 162-7, set Aug. 17 public hearing; approve several tile-repair invoices

Wright County trustees convened with Humboldt County trustees by conference call and tentatively received Amendment No. 1 to the engineer's report for Joint Drainage District 162-7, which removes certain acres from the benefited area and incorporates small design changes that lowered project costs slightly.

Trustees also received the pre-classification report and set a public hearing for the JDD 162-7 engineer's report and amendment for Aug. 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wright County Board of Supervisors chambers. Engineer Colin Klingbeil said he will post the reports on the county drainage webpage so landowners can review the materials prior to the hearing.

In drainage business, trustees approved drainage claims totaling $11,273.60 and signed invoices for tile blowout repairs: Henegar Construction invoice for $2,168.75 (DD 121.54 lateral 8, Norway Township, section 15) and Aaron's Brothers invoices of $213, $223.50 and $941.50 for various blowouts reported in DD 177 (Blaine Township) and other districts. One invoice referenced a missing work order that staff said they are still investigating.

Courtney Morris, drainage district administrator, reported ongoing follow-up on a Radke invoice and related landowner concerns; staff are coordinating further review, including an in-person meeting with county staff and the district landowner to clarify the history and next steps.

Trustees adjourned following the drainage business.

The trustees' actions were procedural: tentative receipt of engineer materials and scheduling of the required public hearing, routine approval of small repair invoices, and follow-up steps for a contested invoice matter.
