An attorney asked the court to accept a copy of the decedent—s will and to appoint Landis. The judge noted the death certificate lists the decedent—s date of death as 04/24/2026 and found the estate—s heirs uncontested. Counsel told the court the estate includes a residence and bank and investment accounts, with combined assets likely exceeding $600,000.
“The order will reflect that the petition is granted, the determination of heirs, and the appointment of Mr. Landis as personal representative without a bond,” the judge said, and signed letters of authority.
The court did not require a bond at this time and told the representative he could obtain certified copies of the letters through the clerk—s office. The judge offered condolences to the family at the close of the hearing.
Because the court recorded the estate inventory and appointment on the record, the representative may begin administering assets and paying obligations under court supervision; the court did not set any additional conditions during the hearing.
