She said the central issue in the incident was inappropriate attire and that police are only called occasionally; police routinely check the pool about once per day. She explained the escalation process for incidents: lifeguards address problems first, then the manager, then the superintendent, and finally the police if necessary. Campbell also addressed questions about staff age, noting that senior staff are 19, 20 and 21 years old.
Superintendent Bitner commended Campbell’s management, said new signage will be painted and posted by next season, and confirmed the Thorco Shelter floor repair remains under review while bids are gathered. The council voiced appreciation for first responders and commended the pool staff during the meeting.
