Butler council approves CDBG pursuit, regional rep and awards Rice Road contract

The council also unanimously approved Resolution No. 547 to designate Mark Mathies as Butler’s representative to the Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission (motion by Scott Mallatt, seconded by Denny Rich).
On the Rice Road Project, bids previously opened June 9 were reviewed. Mayor Henry said the engineering firm Allgeier Martin recommended taking the low bid from Ayers in the amount of $250,500. Councilman Scott Mallatt moved to accept the Ayers bid and Councilwoman Carmen Behringer seconded; the motion passed with six ayes and one nay. The council recorded process concerns in the discussion but followed the engineer's recommendation.
