Several council members urged outreach to nearby residents and the local pickleball group; others warned that putting up a sign that cannot be enforced could inflame tensions.
After discussion the council agreed to a temporary, instructional sign that reads in effect: please limit this court to tennis and use newly resurfaced Dwight/Garrett courts for pickleball. The motion passed when the council voted in favor.
Council directed staff to monitor results and return with a recommendation; council members said they expect to reassess the temporary sign in about one month.
