The study is intended to produce a cost estimate and timeline to make the site more attractive to industry and effectively ‘shovel‑ready.’
Staff suggested a working title for marketing the site ("Runway 75 Commerce Park") and discussed next steps for platting and infrastructure coordination. Commissioners and staff discussed the RFP timeline; the board approved issuing the RFP with a response deadline of July 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Commissioners emphasized that existing county water studies may contain some useful information but recommended a focused study for the airport area to capture current utility requirements tied to targeted industrial prospects. Staff noted the RFP will include consideration of communications and data transmission and will ask proposers to provide cost estimates and schedules.
