Manager Elliot told the committee that after years of public engagement staff have completed a final draft of the Cheltenham Township Comprehensive Plan and are recommending the board consider adopting it following a scheduled public hearing. “We have a completed final draft of the comprehensive plan for consideration by the board to adopt in two weeks,” Manager Elliot said, and noted the municipal planning code procedure requires a public hearing and a comment period (he cited a 45-day comment window).
Manager Elliot said staff has already received comments from at least one neighboring community and is continuing to accept public input through the hearing process. Committee members thanked staff and volunteers for their work on the plan and moved to recommend adoption of a resolution approving the plan following the July 15, 2026 public hearing. The committee’s recommendation passed by voice vote and will be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners for final action.
