Adair County approves ARPA reimbursements, event parking and local road changes

Adair County commissioners approved a set of routine administrative and infrastructure actions in July and early August, including two ARPA reimbursements, a local road-closure petition, an approved local speed limit and permission to use courthouse parking for a community festival.
On Aug. 4 the commission approved ARPA reimbursement request #39 from the Adair County Detention Facility for $62,998.10 to purchase a transport van, and request #40 from Road & Bridge for $360,026.92 to buy a brush cutter and an aluminum box culvert. Presiding Commissioner Mark Shahan moved to approve the requests; Commissioner Bill King seconded the motion and the minutes record unanimous approval.
On July 28 the commission held a second hearing on a petition to close 3rd Street, 4th Street, 5th Street, Avenue A and all alleys within Connelsville. Because no members of the public attended either the first or second hearings, the commission voted to close the roads (motion by Presiding Commissioner Shahan, second by Commissioner McHenry; unanimous).
At the same July 28 meeting the commission approved a 20-mph speed limit on Bob Road from Missouri Highway B to Rye Creek Road after no objections at the second hearing. Commissioner McHenry moved to approve the speed limit; Presiding Commissioner Shahan seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes show these actions were routine, passed without debate or recorded opposition.
