Rob Senacle, the owner of the property at 7991 State Route 31, presented concept plans to the Cicero Planning Board on July 1 for a proposed restaurant conversion of the former Bridgeport Diner. Senacle said the project keeps the existing building footprint but adds a patio, masonry columns and new paving to formalize parking and circulation.
Senacle said the initial plan layout shows about 37 parking spaces plus two accessible spaces in the mapped area, and he expects to pave additional areas to add roughly 20 more spaces. Board members noted the applicant must provide seating counts and employee numbers so staff can verify parking requirements; a plan page mentioned 14 employees.
Board members also asked whether the existing internally lit tenant sign would be replaced or retained; Senacle said the current tenant expects to keep the sign but will update it. Members told the applicant that architectural materials, plantings and final pavement and parking layouts should be supplied for the architecture-review and permitting process.
The board did not vote on the project; staff will provide a written comments list and return the application for further review.
