The short, special meeting was called to order at 4:45 p.m. at Town Hall by First Selectman Flanagan. Present were the three Selectmen and the town secretary. The agenda’s stated purpose was to set a date for the Special Town Meeting to address the budget, authorize a reserve for the Board of Education and consider an allocation to the Sharon Housing Authority.
The Board of Finance has decided to hold an additional hearing at 5:00 p.m. on June 29, one hour before the Special Town Meeting. Selectman Brett moved to schedule the Special Town Meeting for Monday, June 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.; Selectman Kearcher seconded the motion and the Selectmen voted unanimously in favor.
Selectman Brett also moved to adjourn the special meeting; Selectman Kearcher seconded, the motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 4:49 p.m. The minutes were submitted by Town Secretary Tina Pitcher.
The special meeting on June 29 will be the forum for final action on the budget-related items listed in the June 18 agenda; the Board of Finance’s hearing at 5:00 p.m. precedes that vote.
