The York Public Schools Board of Education recorded several routine approvals and procedural actions at its June 8, 2026 meeting.
The board voted to excuse member Brian Tonniges’ absence (motion by Matt Holthe, seconded by Pepper Papineau) and approved the May 11, 2026 minutes (motion by Alex Hildebrand, seconded by Alison North) and the payment of bills (motion by Alex Hildebrand, seconded by Pepper Papineau). Each motion passed by roll-call vote with all five members present voting yes.
The board also convened multiple executive sessions: at 6:20 p.m. to discuss a possible real estate transaction and/or agreement with Southeast Community College and to provide negotiating guidance to the superintendent and legal counsel, at 7:00 p.m. to address requests from the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the City of York for right-of-way and easements in connection with a proposed trail, and later to review the superintendent's mid-year leadership priorities.
