The Williamsville Central School District Board of Education on July 1 presented its 2026–27 district‑wide safety plan and opened a 30‑day public comment period beginning July 2, 2026 and running through July 31, 2026. The district asked community members to send comments to contact@williamsvillek12.org.
Superintendent Darren Brown‑Hall and Assistant Superintendent Tony Scanzuso said the district‑wide plan meets the requirements of Education Law §2801‑a. They emphasized that, by recently revised regulations and the Public Officers Law (Article 6, FOIL), building‑specific emergency response plans are to be kept confidential and will not be posted for public review. The district said it will collect feedback during the 30‑day period and return an updated plan for board consideration at the August 11, 2026 meeting.
Board members were invited to review the posted district plan and submit comments. Assistant Superintendent Scanzuso said team members and building representatives will be updated as needed and that any changes resulting from public comment will be brought back to the board at the August meeting.
The board emphasized compliance with state law while distinguishing between the district‑wide plan available for public comment and building‑level plans that the district says are exempt from disclosure for security reasons.
