East Windsor reports midyear gains as MTSS process narrows achievement gaps

He credited professional development and the district’s MTSS refinement for enabling staff to deliver rapid, subgroup-focused supports.
Board members asked clarifying questions about which grades the counts covered and the inclusion of students with special needs; presenters said the schoolwide counts span all grades at the named school and that assessments are grade‑level standards, including students with IEPs or 504 plans. Staff committed to providing a grade-level breakdown to members who requested it.
The board discussed next steps: continuing MTSS data reviews, refining tiered interventions for students below grade level, and using assessment trends to plan goals and resource allocation. No formal vote was associated with this presentation.
