Board approves revised 2026-27 school calendar and corrects middle-school early-dismissal time

Patrick introduced the change as limited to the high-school open house date and said administrators and teachers recommended the shift to increase participation. A motion to accept the revised calendar was seconded and the board voted; one member recorded an opposition during roll call, but the revision passed.
Board members also corrected a time error for middle-school early-dismissal days. An amendment set the shortened-day dismissal time for the middle school to 12:45 p.m.; that amendment also passed after a motion and second. The board did not change other calendar dates that have already been approved.
The board recorded the calendar change and directed staff to distribute updated calendar information to families and on district communications channels.
