Burlington board appoints Veterans' Strong as veterans service representative; approves multiple reappointments

The Burlington Board of Selectmen on June 23 appointed Veterans' Strong Community Center as the town's Veteran Service representative through June 30, 2030, and unanimously approved multiple reappointments and committee appointments.
The motion to appoint Veterans' Strong Community Center passed unanimously after Donna Dognin reintroduced herself and described the organization's offerings. The motion was moved by Selectman Plourde and seconded by Selectman Goshdigian.
Other approved appointments and reappointments included: Douglas Thompson to the Bristol Burlington Health District for a two-year term ending June 30, 2028 (moved by Selectman Goshdigian, seconded by Selectman Plourde); Arnie Depascale and Roy Merit reappointed to the Building Code of Appeals through June 30, 2028 (Boucher/Goshdigian); Richard Miller and John Hebert reappointed to the Conservation Committee through June 30, 2028 (Plourde/Boucher); and Eric Eggleston reappointed to the Ethics Commission through June 30, 2030 (Goshdigian/Plourde).
At the same meeting the board also reappointed Marlene Cooper to the North Central Regional Mental Health Board through June 30, 2028 (Goshdigian/Boucher); appointed Jay Valigorski as a Planning and Zoning alternate for a two-year term ending June 30, 2028 (Plourde/Goshdigian); reappointed Robert Jorgensen, Mary Morrision, and Paul Bystrak to the Solid Waste Committee for one-year terms ending June 30, 2027 (Goshdigian/Boucher); and appointed Ken Parker as Tree Warden for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027 (Goshdigian/Plourde).
All motions recorded in the transcript were passed unanimously by the four Selectmen present: First Selectman Thompson and Selectmen Boucher, Plourde and Goshdigian.
The board adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
