The EMS Planning and Building Committee told the Easton Board of Finance on June 2 that it has about $35,000 remaining in the project budget if there are no additional environmental costs.
Committee representative John said the committee completed additional environmental testing last week and expects results later in the week. He said the committee will explore various options and present those options with costs and schedules to the Board of Finance—possibly the week of June 15—but will not present any option unless it has been checked for compliance with Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) requirements. John suggested a worst-case remediation scenario could cost about $300,000.
