Town Board approves equipment purchases, project change orders and an assessor reappointment; votes at a glance

Fleet and capital projects: The board adopted a resolution (sponsored by Councilman Frank J. Bertoni and seconded by Councilman Joseph P. Nirchi, Sr.) to purchase a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup to replace a 2015 vehicle at a total price of $59,234.43, citing Sourcewell bidding and using the motor vehicle budget line. The board also authorized increasing the purchase order for Duke’s sanitary sewer flow meter project by $3,400, bringing the project cost to $78,600; the funds were identified as coming from Capital Project monies. Both resolutions were recorded as adopted with unanimous votes.
Parks: The board approved a low bid of $17,800 from J.R. Construction to replace shingles on the Carousel roof at West Endicott Park, per the 2025 capital expenditure line; the resolution passed unanimously.
Budget transfer: A motion by Bertoni, seconded by Nirchi, approved a 2025 budget transfer decreasing a printing line by $500 and increasing Recreation Equipment (10 7145 2501) by $500 to cover July 4/recreation needs.
Personnel: The board approved a motion by Councilman Joseph P. Nirchi, Sr., seconded by Councilman David Kudgus, to reappoint Joseph Cook as Town Assessor for a six-year term from Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2031, in accordance with New York State Real Property Tax Law §310.
