Staff warned the grants carry a short spending window—"about six weeks"—and indicated they would work with the mayor and possibly amend the budget to accommodate the awards.
Staff also announced a short water outage to begin around 9:00 a.m. the following day for Twin Lakes water rehabilitation work and gave updates about summer camp enrollment and volunteer support from local partners. Council members raised operational concerns about delayed limb pickup in several neighborhoods and asked staff to prioritize collections.
The council did not finalize budget appropriations at the meeting; the budget amendment introduction and contract introductions were set for public hearings on May 27, 2025.
