The county’s signature on the resolution authorizes the chair to execute and submit required forms and provide any additional information requested by the state agency.
The board also received a Letter of Agreement from the River Valley Regional Commission (RC), which the document says will prepare and submit the county’s FY2025 application and perform data collection, preliminary historic and environmental assessments, public hearings and related tasks. The RC’s letter notes an application cost‑defrayment fee of $750 for a new application (or $500 for an application rewrite); RC staff said implementation assistance would be provided under a separate contract if the grant is awarded.
The county clerk attested the signed resolutions; the commission did not specify the precise project(s) to be funded in the motion beyond the broad “community facilities” funding category. Next steps: the county will work with the River Valley Regional Commission to finalize and submit the CDBG application to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs as authorized by the board.
