Commission reappoints two tax assessors, appoints county manager to Two Rivers regional commission

The Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County Commission unanimously reappointed two members of the Board of Tax Assessors at its Oct. 1 regular meeting and approved several routine personnel and scheduling items.
By unanimous vote the commission reappointed James (Jim) Wiehe to Post 5 for a term expiring Dec. 1, 2028, and reappointed Ken Vanhorn to a term expiring Dec. 1, 2028, according to the resolutions adopted by the board.
Commissioners also approved a refund to Beverly Riley (referred to as an S5 refund in the minutes) and unanimously appointed County Manager Thomas Weaver to fill a vacancy on the Two Rivers Regional Commission through Dec. 31, 2025.
Several agenda items were tabled for future consideration, including a Board of Education request to use Old City Hall and a cardboard compactor trial at the recycling center. The board also rescheduled its November regular meeting to Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.
All recorded votes on these items in the minutes were unanimous. No additional details about the tax assessor appointments (beyond term expiration dates recorded in the adopted resolutions) were discussed at the meeting.
