The Town of Union Board on May 7 approved multiple personnel and contract measures, including a security services agreement with Universal Protection Services, LLC d/b/a Allied Universal Security Services, hiring a full-time planning department account clerk and approving education travel for the town assessor.
Supervisor Robert Mack and the five-member board voted to adopt a prepared resolution authorizing the security services agreement "subject to the final approval by the Town Attorney" and to authorize the supervisor to execute the contract in final form. The resolution was offered by Councilman Frank J. Bertoni and seconded by Councilman Thomas R. Augostini; the minutes record the vote as "All yes."
The board also approved a resolution to hire Mary Rose Trullio as a full-time account clerk in the Planning Department at an annual salary of $33,579, effective after successful completion of pre-employment testing. The hiring resolution was moved by Councilman David Kudgus, seconded by Councilman Frank J. Bertoni and recorded as adopted unanimously.
Separately, the board approved Assessor Joe Cook's attendance at the New York State Assessor’s Association education courses slated for July 17–19, 2025. The board approved the $405 course fee and requested the use of a town vehicle and per diem in accordance with town guidelines; that motion was made by Joseph P. Nirchi, Sr. and seconded by David Kudgus and carried. The board also approved the minutes of the April 16, 2025 meeting earlier in the session.
Each of the formal resolutions recorded in the minutes is noted as having carried or been adopted; the minutes do not record dissenting votes or recorded roll-call names beyond noting the motions and that votes were "All yes." The meeting adjourned at 7:22 P.M.
