The board adopted a resolution calling a final public hearing for the Consolidated Plan and the 2025 Annual Action Plan on July 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The board also adopted a separate resolution authorizing the Supervisor to sign the Civil Rights certification required by HUD and to accept CDBG/HOME and Housing Choice Voucher funds for federal fiscal year 2025. Both resolutions were offered by Councilman Frank J. Bertoni and seconded by Councilman Thomas R. Augostini; the minutes record the vote as “all yes.”
The measures formalize the municipality’s next steps for applying for HUD grants that fund housing, infrastructure and community development projects. The board also recorded acceptance of the Town’s FEMA Community Rating System (CRS) recertification, which can affect flood insurance considerations.
Councilman Bertoni, who sponsored the resolutions, told the board these are routine but necessary procedural steps to secure federal funds and meet HUD deadlines. The board’s action includes authorization for the Planning Director or Deputy Planning Director to submit required certifications and notifications by HUD due dates.
Next steps: the board will hold the public hearing on July 9, 2025, to receive community input on the draft Consolidated Plan and Action Plan prior to final submission to HUD.
