Military spouse and teacher outlines faith-based coaching program for returning citizens and youth

Ad and Rebecca Dairo presented Living Ride Academy during the visitors docket at the June 23 DeRidder City Council meeting, outlining a faith-based life-coaching program they said is aimed at reducing recidivism and building leadership skills in vulnerable populations.
"We represent a faith-based life coaching initiative with one driving mission to empower transformational leaders and change destinies beginning with the most vulnerable in our communities," Ad said, describing services for individuals in correctional facilities, returning citizens re-entering society, students, teachers and school leaders, and families.
Rebecca Dairo identified herself as a teacher with about 20 years of classroom experience and described program modules including "chemistry of pain," origins of pain, response strategies, self-awareness and discipleship across an eight-week curriculum. "The outcome is that we are going to have reduced recidivism, behavior change and mature citizens leaders in the home," she said.
The Dairo team requested three forms of city support: public awareness to increase visibility and credibility, relational connections to partner with diversion programs and schools in DeRidder, and opportunities or sponsorships to underwrite training.
Council members thanked the presenters and suggested city-supported outreach such as invitations to civic clubs (Lions Club, Kingdom Center) to broaden community exposure. No formal council funding or directive resulted from the presentation; staff offered to collect contact information for follow-up.
