At a special work session on June 16, 2026, the Great Falls City Commission interviewed three candidates for a vacancy on the Great Falls Library Board, Mayor Cory Reeves said. The candidates were Len Nopen, Anne Burnett and Brian Patrick. Commissioners said they would weigh the interviews and either appoint a candidate at the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting that day or re-advertise the vacancy.
The interviews were held in the Civic Center Commission Chambers, Room 206, and were open to the public. No members of the public addressed the commission during the public-comment period. Library Director Amy Dissmeyer and Deputy City Clerk Darcy Dea were present for the work session.
Mayor Reeves explained that commissioners would take turns asking questions of the applicants and could follow up for clarification. The transcript records that members of the commission took turns questioning the applicants; it does not record verbatim answers or include direct quotes from the candidates.
The commission did not take a formal vote during the work session. According to the meeting record, commissioners will either make an appointment at the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting on June 16, 2026, or request that the board position be re-advertised to solicit additional applicants. The special work session adjourned at 5:08 p.m.
Next steps: the commission is scheduled to consider appointment at its regular meeting on June 16, 2026, or to re-advertise the vacancy if members request further recruitment.
