River Ridge board accepts resignation of supervisor James Gilman, outlines vacancy process

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of James Gilman from Seat 1 (term expires Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting.
"Mrs. Adams presented Mr. James Gilman’s resignation letter," the record shows. Mrs. Adams told the board that "Mr. Gilman represented The Meadows for the last eight years" and said she would include a friend resident’s resume on the next agenda if provided. On a motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board voted to accept Mr. Gilman’s resignation with all in favor.
Because this is an appointment to fill an unexpired term rather than an election, the board agreed by consensus to have Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements, and to request resumes or letters of interest ahead of the following meeting. The board deferred administration-of-oath and related training items to a future package.
